rear, on the flat sides of teh subframe, which run paralell with teh back wheels.

front, on amd-mk1 i have to jack on teh bits where teh front subframe join the cabin and the floor pan, if u understand, tehres a bolt that goes through teh floor, i use there as i cant get a jack anywhere else!

on my race car i just use the tierod mounts at teh front, wprkks for me.

jjust have a look, find some places taht are solid

tricky stuff :P

In the 16 years i've been fiddling around with mini's i've never had a drama with jacking a mini up under the sump.

Your on something Doogie

I jack up with a Trolly jack on the cup where the Tie rod connects to the front Appron and put the Stands under the flattest section where the suspention sits inside.

For the rear, eather side and do the same for the stands.
After you are done ensure the car is steady on them.
Also while doing the jacking open both doors

It is one thing to do it yourself, it is a totally different thing to recommend that someone else do it, especially if the person that you are recommending it to is a novice and has no idea of the condition of his engine mounts.

As usual the Ausmini "nanny state" is at it again, the original post was asking where the best place is to jack up a mini. IMO that place is the sump, if other don't agree with that, fine then, put your opinion up, don't berate other cause their opinion is'nt the same as them. Everybody is turning into Jeremy Clarkson "if your opinion is different to mine then your wrong.

This site is full of young wanna be's who think they know all & full of over modding mods who jump at anything minor, we would'nt want to upset the BMW Bini owners now would we!!!!!

Im truly getting over this site big time.

How's that relevant? Who's under the car while its being jacked up?
