pulled this from my forum, hope u can help!

Hi Guys,

for those of you I dont no I am the guy with the blue morris mini
with the white roof (whole thing used to be white)

Ok!!... so heres the thing!

I have been living in melbourne for the past 5 months and I took the
mini with me but then the pistons decided to blow right through the
motor didnt they!

I have since baught a new car over there, & I am moving back to
tassie at the end of jan (I am in Tassie at the moment go back on the
9th jan) what I am wanting to do is just get the shitta of all shitta
engines + gearbox to have put in it over there just so I can drive it
back home. I am talkin real real budget here, even if it only works
once! I just need something to get it back so I can start stripping
the whole thing.

what I was wondering is if any of you no any mini buffs in melb that
could possibly help me out with where to find one? I went to this
mini place over there but they wer only interested in selling me a
real expensive engine

Ta!

Maybe a mate with a trailer would be cheaper, easyer, especially if he's gunna pull it apart anyways.

I've got an early clubman 1100 (remote shift, rubber Unis) sitting in the way in my shed.

Good points: Ran okay in the (terminally rusty) donor car and wasn't smokey after a few minutes running. Decent compression - 150-160 on all four. Oil light went out straight away on startup. All gears in the gearbox seemed okay.

Bad points: Lots of oil leaks! Covered in sludge. Bad flywheel ring gear means starting was schreech city! Clutch slips. Hasn't been run for 18 months but has been stored in the shed with rags stuffed in the ports/holes to stop crap getting in.

Originally this donk was going to get rebuilt and plonked into the Moke. But I managed to get a 1275 A+ Auto engine.

Was gonna keep it as a spare in case I blew up the Moke or van engine. It's more of a rebuilder than a runner. But if he's desperate I could be persuaded to part with it for a small sum.

But I'm with Poeee - get it towed to the boat, push it on (or get a tourist with a 4x4 to pull it on) the boat. Then push it off the other end and trailer it.

Where in Melb is this guy located?
