The new nalothane rack bush is a firm but sliding fit out of the housing but as soon as it is fitted in the housing there is no way the inner rack is going to slide through it - I mean I had to use the BFH to get it in (and out) so what is the trick to reaming nalothane?

Maybe this should also be added to the "repro parts that just don't fit" thread...

My sympathies for this weekend wombat...nothing seems to be going your way..

Are You trying to fit the bush into the housing that had the felt bush fitted, or straight into the Rack housing

Straight into the rack housing - There was a red plastic thing in there that was in a metal sleave ( looked like a top steering column bush)- but that had a sloppy fit to the rack and was destroyed getting it out. The new one is blue neoprene/naltothane and is a snug fit into the housing but in the process closes off the bore.

The Nolathane one (p/no 41039) I got from Pedders was red, and a perfect fit.
Are you sure yours is for the Oz rack not the UK one...

Got it from Karcraft when I got the rest of the bits. - I've pulled apart another rack but all the internals are different - differents sizes etc BUT the bush is a red neoprene with hex bore - I wonder
