g'day all just wondering what causes a carby to spit out petrol out the shaft and also where the vacuum advance goes the shaft is the one that is connected to the butterfly...... i hope that makes sense

'spitting' petrol out of the carb anywhere other than down the throat is not at all normal!

'spitting' fuel at any point is not at all normal for that matter

can you describe in a bit more detail what's happening

IE when the butterfly open / closed, idling, revving.... ??

comes out both idling and revving...... i think its just the carb out of tune but i want to know what you guys think.....how do i adjust the carb so it runs but may still need a bit of fiddling around with but will run and revv? i know that you adjust the nut under the bottom just how many turns etc any body know>?????/

sorry carter,,, its too general a question with very little to go on

but it could be way lean,,, try turning the mixture nut down a few flats,,,, maybe till the idle frops a bit & maybe the spitting will stop

have you got some oil in the dash pot???

oil is in dash pot......it just doesnt rev you put the accelerator down and it goes couch couch couch brrrrmmmmmm if that makes sense?

timing has been done it isnt the timing did it yesterday cause it was backfiring because the carb wasnt tightened it vibrated itself out so fixed that problem yesty no more backfiring.
