I'm at work and they have tightened up the internet access even more - can't see pictures (they take up band width :roll: ) and the seach function will not work - I'm lucky to even post - takes me several goes.

All I want to know is the length of the threaded rod for a DIY cone compressor

You want good high tensile threaded rod and Grade 8 nuts, there are tons of force on this thing when done up.
Put a plate on the crossmember or you will collapse it into the hole, there is no strength below it on these early subbies.
