ok today we swaped the motors over in the van and swaped the gear selectors aswell so instead of being remote, it is now a wand to suit the van..

problem is now i cant select gears.. i can get 1 and 4 and reverse but no 2nd or 3rd.. and this is without the motor running.

any ideas why??

My guess(s) is that you either have the stick hitting the floor panel at the front of the gear shift hole,,, restricting full forward movement of the stick

which leads me to the 2nd part of the "guess(s)" which could possible be caused by the Knuckles on the top of the diff housing being incorrectly set

,,, just a guess(s) tho :-)

well you have gone from Remote change to a Wand which I have not installed.
If it was a Remote I would say you are a Tooth out or two from the gear solector to the spline in the remote

My bet is the splines on top.
The lever on the selector shaft (into the gearbox) should be horizontal in neutral position.
The RH one (on the shaft through the diff housing) is correct when the gearstick is pointing straight ahead in the 3-4 neutral position.
If gearstick is L or R of this, it's a spline tooth out.
Tighten the spline coupling bolts good and tight, if not they wear the shaft and the coupling too.
