hi there
I have a 97 Rover Mini which has "peppertree" (or something like that) wheels on it.
We have to use a little plastic lock nut cap remover to take the wheels off and ours just broke!
Does anyone know where to get one from please?

thanks
Deb

"pepperpot"... cos it looks like a pepper shaker, doesn't look like a pepper tree :D

you could try various spanners and things - I got my dad's locknuts off his superlites by putting an open ended spanner at right angles to the nut and twisting it with a screwdriver...

or a centre punch, but then you'll need new nuts, but they're not much good without the locknut key

If the car is drivable I'd go down to the local wheel shops and ask if they have either:
a. anything that fits you could buy, or
b. anything that fits so you can remove the nuts and buy a new set of locknuts later.

Failing that, I've used a cheap socket and hammer with success a few times.
:D

My new van came with those famous words " the socket for the lock nuts is in one of those boxes I think" must of been the other box  2 came off with a socket and hammer and the other 2 removed with an air chisel, 4 new nuts and all is good

I was the perfect example of this

I had Lock Nuts on the Alfa 75 and lost the Key for the lock Nuts
I hammered a socket onto each and removed them

Mind you be carefull....if you have to change a tyre due to a flat and you still have this problem....your in the Poo

Find a Key or atleast get them off
