Does anyone know from person experience etc if a Rover Mini (1987 model, Automatic) currently registered in Victoria with full compliance papers etc will be allowed to be transferred over to NSW registration?

Any help and/or advise is greatly appreciated.

No. You have to get a Blue slip.

This Says for cars that are registered in other states too.

*nods*

I knew that much, but does anyone know off hand if this car would pass blue slip??? I have heard stories that its hard to register automatic Rover Minis in NSW because they dont have park to lock the breaks when you are stopped.

I am certain the car would pass typical blue slup stuff (ie lights, brakes, suspension etc etc) but I wanted to know if there was a law against them

You will need both an engineers certificate & a blue slip.

You wont get the blueslip without the engineers certificate.

And you wont get rego without the blueslip.

I had no idea what I was in for until I got the car back to NSW, was a bit of a confusing process until the mechanic ran me through it.

I have noticed that some people go on about an engineering plate on the car...I didnt get one..and I still don't have one. I have an engineers certificate and a 'condition' printed on my rego label. I keep a photocopy of the certificate with the car at all times.

Glad my thread helped a bit :)

Why don't you ring the RTA and ask?
