If I change to rubber cone from hydro suspension do I have to do anything to the sub frames where the hydro bags locate in the frames to then hold the rubber cones in place

This can be done without changing the subframes by tapping back the tabs that retain the hydro bags. Done a few.

I love hydro mini's - don't change it unless you have exhausted all the other avenue's for finding 2nd hand bags.

I doubt you can go back to fitting hydro displacers once you butcher a subby for rubber cones.
If you can't find a silver S bag, I'd put a pair of Mini Deluxe or Mini-K ones in it.
With shocks on both types I can't tell the difference.

Having owned an S replica converted to rubber cones and Hi-Los, I wish the PO had left it alone. It handled no better (with Konis) than my hydro car does with Pedders on the front, and the ride was far worse.
