I was looking at this late last year.

I bought an electric aerial from Super Cheap. The problem is every aerial I looked at was too long and would've fouled on the tyre.

So I chopped it down a bit which meant there would be about 8cms protruding even when the aerial was fully retracted.

I never did get around to fitting it but that's all I could see to do with what was available.

Just put a shark fin style one on. Not going to break down or get broken that way.

I got one from supercheap , it fits OK, doesn't hit anything. I did have to take the first one back it broke after about three goes but they replaced it ,no questions even offered my money back. The second one has been in the car for about four months and is still working.Goes up when the radio is turned on and down when off or CD playing.

can you show me a photo???

i think I've worked I'm stuffed!

there is no original hole for a radio aerial! as it is 64 model.

the only hole on the left hand passenger side originally had a mirror in there? i think!

so I'm not sure what i cant fit as it is sitting above the wheel?

i want to fit some thing there but what how :(

i don't want to drill any new holes & muck around with the paint job as it is awesome as is.

so I'm pretty confused what to buy now.

dam crap mini!

If you don't do much country driving than maybe consider an internal antena that fits inside the rear window. The one I've used for 5 years is a little box (like a magnetic spare key box) that sticks to the rear window with a flat 6 inch wire sticking out each end. I've also seen ones that are just two wires about 400mm long each that you can run around the edge of the front or rear glass.

No body modifications required. Just mount it away from other electrical items like electric fuel pumps to cut down on interference.

My yellow clubbie has one mounted and no problems with regards to fouling anywhere. Unfortunately, no pics of the car with aerial extended.

I'd go the internal one that sticks to the inside of the window. No holes to be drilled. Perfect!

I used to have a carphone antenna like that. It worked fine.
