What should I be expecting to pay for some traveller rear seats?

One million dollars!!!



That's if you can find some. Best bet would be to try the UK.
the Clubman Estate seats should fit the same. Otherwise just copy the parts locally. They are not very complex. Any sheet metal place could press the parts up, then you can get an upholsterer to finish them off.

I had the bits, and got a local motor trimmer to recreate the seats with a close match to the front seats.

mike wasn't far off..

The seats don't have steel frames, they are wooden underneath. The best bet would be to copy an existing set of frames and get the newton commercial foam and covers.

They have a pressed steel support / hinge channel under the front edge.
The wood is nothing special, so yeah Bunnings will do for that.
From memory I think I paid about $400 to have them trimmed locally, but that was 3 years ago.

Just saw a pretty good set go for 31 pounds on ebay UK, add shipping to that and its still pretty reasonable i reckon.

Traveller rear

New from the UK and wanting a NICE little British car!

The seats in my early Traveller are just plywood bases with a piece of wood and bit of steel angle across the front. It hinges from two pins mounted on the companion boxes at the side. You could get it all from Bunnings.

Be aware that a set of Traveller rear seats won't just bolt in to convert a van to a Traveller. The floor and load bay of the Traveller is very different to a van, and there are supports up the sides for the rear seat backrest to fasten to.

If you want to convert a van to have a rear seat you are better to use a small Suzuki seat or similar that self-supports the backrest.
