 Post subject: Mini K gearbox??

Anybody know if a Mini k remote change gearbox has a syncro on first and can the inards be put in a rod change is there much difference.

Yes a K box has 1st gear synchro.
Yes all the gears, layshaft and mainshaft will fit the A series (not A+) rodchange box, except reverse.

But the selector setup is different, so you need to use the rodchange ones.

If you've got a remote box, keep it rather than gutting it for a rodchange case. The gearshift is usually more precise, and the housing keeps the engine lots more steady than the rodchange unit...
