Hey,

Yesterday my left indicators stopped working,

i took of the plastic thing around the indicator stalk and this was in the bottom:
Image

It appears to be the little thing that triggers the indicators on and off.... is there a way of fixing it... it looks like it has snapped near where its connected.... or is it time for new one?... if so does any one have second hand ones?

Thanks.

I didn't see one of them last time I pulled some indicator stalks apart.
How big is it?

(yes i realise its on a post-it so guessing about an inch....what diameter though?
I just can't think of where it's come from. )

hmm its hard to explain... there are 2 of them... one for left one for right...

when the indicator stalk pushed up or down, they then connect with a round terminal kind of thing, which makes the indicator come on... its proabbly bout 1mm thick.. if that.

im not good at explaining things, haha

The one I pulled apart had a heap of balls and springs inside.
Sorry, I can't help you on this one.

Sorry, I have tried but never found a satisfactory way to fix them. Usually by the time they start doing things like that the whole assembly needs replacing. They really are not that dear new.

Occassionally they appear on ebay in aus by a seller 'landcrab'. Although they are for other BMC cars, they are the same unit except for the plug connection and these are very easy to replace with the existing one. I got one for my clubbie and luckily for me, he is only a couple of suburbs away and I was able to pick it up.

Convertible Mini sells them too for $90. Mine plug straight in and have headlight flash optional extra. Why send them to buy one somewhere else when an Ausminier sells them ?

I'm about to adapt a stalk from a Hyundai, it's not original I know but it reduces the number of switches needed on the dash.
