How long is "so long"?

Mine has been getting a little harder to start as its getting into winter (just like me) but with full choke it still starts within 3-4 seconds. Then it needs a good warm up to get it going. Do you pump a little bit of accelerator as you try to kick it over?

I'm pretty sure the choke works , it feels like the engine doesn't have enough spark or petrol to crank over ! I have try 10 times before I get a paulse , I pump the gas a aswell . Once it starts it fine .

Check your battery, just to be sure, cold & wet weather can sometimes affect the batteries performance.

My old purple clubbie was crap in the morning until I put a new battery with a higher CCA in.

Crank it for a timed period (not guessed) and count revolutions. Post the result and somebody will soon squeal if it sounds too low.

Is your choke cable too loose? I had a problem where there was too much extra length of the cable at the carby end, and the choke didn't do anything at all until it was about 1/4 of the way out. This means when the choke is all the way out, it isn't as rich as it's supposed to be.

If you pull the choke out just a little, you should see the fast idle adjustment moving almost straight away. The jet lowering should start when the choke is about half way out.

This sounds like you are trying to say it turns over slowly, is this what you mean :?: If so I would be looking at the battery.

I would normally suggest pouring some hot water over the battery, if it then starts easier you know that is the issue. However, given the battery is in the boot.....
