I am trying to find a replacement heater radiator that looks like this:

Does anyone know where I can get one like this? If at all.

Go to "Bundoora Radiators" There around in the next street to the old Northern Mini Parts (in Heidelberg) They did all our radiators & heater cores and would have what you need/or have a modern replacment.

The local radiator place (D&D Radiator Service Centre) quoted $290 for a replacement core - they said they'd have to make it.

What are your thoughts on what I would possibly be looking at ($$)?

I would just look for another S/H MiniMatic heater, there are plenty around still. These were also a factory option on Mini Deluxe and K.

Adrad do replacement cores and I doubt it would be $280, probably closer to $80.

I ended up going to Bundoora. Russell was good to talk to and estimates 200 smackaroos.

I figured that I would only need to do this once .... And I'm impatient.

I've just pulled the heater housing apart and am ready to sandblast it.
After that I will get a rust spot repaired before I paint it.

Then i get to put it all back together.

Came home tonight and sand blasted the heater surround.

Here is some rust that I found:

Does anyone know anyone in the West (near Deer Park) that can fix this rust for me?

I don't know anyone with a welder... and I don't know how to weld.

Im sure there would be a local place that could do it for me.

If you have a good relationship with your mini mechanic i'm sure they would zip it up in a few minutes for you?

If not, someone on here must live near by, come on guys!

I don't have a mini mechanic so I was kind of hoping someone with welding skills could give me a hand.

Else on Saturday I will drive around to the local businesses.

The metal is about a mil thick. I would need a patch which is about 2 inches by 1 inch.

Got any Smash repair shops nearby, they should be able to sort it out for you.

Yeah, that's the sort of place I was going to try.

I'd just hope that I don't get a cowboy who stuffs up the metal.

Just patch it with bog. You've got all the rust out and its not structural.

As Yoda once told me: "Apply filler thinly you must. Steel is good, and strooong."

I'd rather have this fixed and not patched.
