Hi all,

I have an issue with a deluxe, when lifting off throttle the car pulls to the left.

I have looked over the complete front end and have not found anything.

I have fitted new control arm bushes, caster arm bushes, ball joints still no change, the steering rack feels fine and no movement, rach is tight to the firewall, engine mounts are new but the steady bushes are a little warn and will be replaced next.
there is no clunking to it but does it all the time.

under acceleration there is no pulling, it drives straight.

anyone got any other ideas?

thanks Guys

Grant

Are any brakes or cables binding on one side?

Rack bush OK? (tug the tierod about to see)
When mine was loose it used to pull under acceleration but was fine when I backed off.
Also check the steering arms are both tight on the swivel hubs, Marlene's Deluxe did that until I tightened it up.

Spraycansam - It has not had a wheel alignment but string line shows it to be close and it just does not feel like toe setting.

Harley - its not a brake issue, its got s discs on it and they are all overhauld and fine

Kevin - I have not been under it and pulled/pushed on the tie rod to check the rack bush so i will look at that, its got new tie rod ends and they are tight, i do recall the lock tabs looking good on the steering arm but will check that area too.

thanks all

Grant

I had one loose steering arm on the hub and it was quite scary. Would change lanes when backing off. Only just a little bit loose. Brilliant now with just the usual torque steer

Well the good Doc has put his finger on it again, the left side steering arm had one bolt fitted and one broken off, it was a bitch to drill and easy out but got it in the end.

car now drives much better.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts.
