Good afternoon all

The seats in my mini (and the door cards, now that I think of it) are a little worse for wear. The back seat feels fine, but there's a bit of a rip in the dot-cloth. The front seats are under covers, but i know they are FILTHY, and they seem to be caving in when I sit on them. Old foam I suppose.
So my questions are:
1. I'm going to give them a clean first and see how they come up. Product suggestions? I have the dot-cloth inserts, tips on cleaning this?
2. Can the foam be redone without having to re-trim the outside? Or, any other ideas as to why the seats feel like they have lost their pizzaz?
3. If i do need to retrim the seats, the dot cloth is supposed to be hen's teeth, isn't it? Has anyone had any luck with reproduction stuff?

Cheers!

+1 for checking the rubber diapham underneath.

If they are broken the seat will feel saggy.
If you need some i have 2 brand new ones sitting here.

So are there only the rubber diaphragm ones available now? Mine have a wire spring base?

Can't be that early, I am led to believe they are clubman seats? ie have the catch on the rear and the floor rail?? :?

Are they both the spring type? Surely someone could have repaired the seat with a sprung base at some stage. Not to mention it wasn't uncommon for them to use what was availiable during manufacturing.

They did at one stage have the spring type base, but changed back to the rubber type
after a short period of time, The spring type base can be obtained, However I would convert to the rubber type

Correct. From memory (not reliable...) I'm pretty sure they are rubber, not springs. I'll check them out, cheers all!
