Can someone please confirm that this is a cooper heatsheild as it has a bracket that I think is for the vac advance tube. See pic below

If you are interested in it please PM me. I would be interested in just a standard cooper s heatsheild to buy or swap.

The carbs and everything else with it appesrs to be cooper s.

Yes, I agree, it is a Cooper one. I have one on my Morris 1100 at the moment.

That Heat shield was used right through the range Including Cooper S which did not use the Vacuum advance.
Just to be clear, Cooper S heat shields Did have that Bracket.
In fact, so did the Clubman GT which can be clearly seen in the GT enginre bay pic on page 64 of vthe Book Spotlight On Mini Minor Down Under.
Caption mistakedly says it is a Cooper s Engine Bay!!

O/T but related-
Note the Police Pack HS4 carbs on the Cooper S and Clubby GT did not use this shape heat shield, they had a 1 piece one.

Ok well if thats true it kinda makes sense, absolutely everthing else that came with that setup was correct so it seemed odd to end up with a different shield.

I guess over the years many have just been replaced with sets without the bracket.

Correct, in fact it was an AH Sprite, MG Midget heat shield converted to suit 1 1/2 SU's on a mini...

What is actually the purpose of the bulbous section of the metal vac line when one is fitted to that bracket. Is it just shaped that way so the bracket can support it?

Ah OK. Yeah it seemed a lot of fuss just to support a bit of tube.
