okay fellas I wanna know what temperature your mini should run at in this heat in the thirties ? ok in farenheit ? my brothers vcar is running on 200 bit hotter if goin up a hill. where my brothers clubman stays on normal

The first thing I would say is to only treat the gauge as a guide. Many variables determine where the needle sits for "normal" temperature.

To help get familiar with my car, I stuck the wife's digital kitchen thermometer in the radiator and noted needle position for given temps. This only worked up to a point, as the system started spitting before the thermo fan kicked in. Nonetheless, a useful exercise for me.

So in my case, the temp gauge is reading too high, so a mate is going to help me install a resistor in the circuit to drop the needle down to a more realistic level.

212 degrees fahrenheit is 100 degrees celsius, so yeah is ok but youll find car runs better/happier around the 200 mark

ok thanks ballistic my brother was saying his car is over heating because it sit around the 200 mark a lil bit higher at times this should put him to rest I think lol., thanks for all your help
