Is it safe to use a small bore harmonic balancer on an 1100S engine
The engine will be either 0.40 or 0.60 thou over bore and crank is large journal 0.10 or 0.20 thou over on the journals and large journal rods.
Or should I get a cooper S balancer?

No offence intended here but--> anyone writing a book about minis 30 years ago may not have experienced such worn or stuffed-with components as we are finding these days.

You should put your heart & soul into everything you do.

Just make sure the rubber bonding is OK if it's s/h. Run a razor blade around the back to clean it off flush, if rubber isn't cracked then it's a good 'un.
