Standard cooper s motor. Standard factory rocker cover. Standard factory style vented (taller) oil filler cap.

Oil filler cap contacts bonnet crossmember when bonnet closed.

If anything my bonnet is a little high along the rear edge rather than flush with the scuttle panel.

Is this a common issue?? Suggestions/solutions appreciated.

Cheers.

If this a new issue or something that's existed for a while?

What type of engine mounts have you got?

When I fitted the taller (correct) vented cap it became an issue although i took a while befor i realised it was rubbing. The non vented just fits I think. When I first got the car it had a fancy rover style alloy r cover and large Cental flip cap and it also contacted.

Re the engine mounts I don't know what I have. Are some thicker?
