I have a Mk1 Cooper S Dissy No 40819 and want to convert it to electronic ignition.
Ebay has 2 around the $50 - $60 mark.
One is called Stealth II With adaptive dwell
The other is called Accuspark.
Has anyone used these and what are your thoughts?

Cheers

I fitted the Accuspark to my 23D S dizzy, was easy to fit and ran great. No troubles with it whatsoever. Would suggest playing around with opening the spark plug gap a little.

I converted my MK1 S dissy way back using the Lumenition optronic kit. Has worked well ever since for many years, but now there a lot more players in the field and most are a lot cheaper.

I ended up fitting a Fireball XR700 after my local mini specialist recommended it and Dad happened to have one. Others do the job but he hasn't had any problems with these. There was a noticable difference when I fitted it, best thing I have done.

My car has one of ^^^ Convertible's in it and it runs perfectly. It has been sat with ignition on but not running for ages while I tried to diagnose a fuel sender fault and never blew up the widget.

Don't ask me the brand. It was in the car when I bought it. I just found the receipt in the book the P.O. gave me.

My othe car has one of his alternators and that's perfect too.

I agree, it is not always the price that matters, With tony You get good advice and good quality, And Quality is a real issue to day, and that is because everyone is looking at price and the manufacturers, & suppliers of quality parts are closing their doors and then You will only be able to get low quality parts, People like tony are an asset the Mini community can ill afford to loose, So try and give him a go I Have never heard a bad word about the quality of the parts he sells
End Of rant

Tony also does a great Bosch geared starter for big HP motors, it spins my 1360 like a top. Even when it's 2°C outside...

Mine has one of Tony's kits in there's. Simple to install and you can ask him a question to clarify if you need, he tests every one and they don't break the bank.

To be honest one has to have bricks in the head to run points and condenser these days.
