As per the title my moke still had a miss

it has been progressively worse and has moved in permanently

So its a
Std 998
1.25 carb
Std exhaust and air clear
Std cam

I have replaced the following with new parts
Dizzy cap
Rotor fits nice and tight on the spindle
Points dwell reading 50 degrees
Condensor
Dash pot has oil
The leads are with in spec

I have tried the following timing setting
The timing to 5 then 10 then 15 degress. It runs better with 15 plus degrees

Its running way to rich. Checked the needle which is gx std needle for tge 998, and it straight

Leened off the mixture then richend slight improvement if its richend

Compression is 140 even across each cylinder

Firing order is 1342

I am not sure what else to try

Any recommendations would be welcome

Plug gap?
Many new plugs are pre-gapped to 1.1mm, which is way too wide for std ignition. They should be .025" if running points.

Does it miss under liad or at idle. When the engine is hot or cold?

Could be a bad voltage supply to the coil or the coik is buggered

Boomini wins the mini bingo.

It was the coil in the end.

I did swap out the dizzy which made no difference until I swaped the coil.

I will put in the old one once I strip in down and give it a clean. The neighbours complained that I was making to much noise  first time in 20 years

Thanks for the suggestion boomini

Make sure you place the old coil in bin.
