Hey Guys,

Does any one know which flares these are?


And do they require a backing plate to be welded/riveted onto the panel or are they screwed/bolted on with a rubber behind them?

Also would these fit on a clubby?

Innocenti flares plastic screw in . Low cost easily replaced if cracked or damaged here's my effort with a chrome strip. Wheels are 10x6" ... Disc brakes & stepped drums. Still legal. stick some rubber behind then to protect your paint.

Yours look great... what did you use for the rubber backing? is it just flat rubber you cut from a sheet? or is it some type of moulding you can buy?

It's a "u" shaped rubber backing I bought from minisport uk. But check out clark rubber should find something similar

Hey mate,
I bought this rubber from minisport UK, not sure if minisport SA stock it (haven't looked to be honest)

If you don't get screws with it, take it to a fastners place so they can find one with a reasonable size head to it.

Don't use the black steel screws that come with them, they rust, and it runs down the flares, which looks crap.
Go to a Boat shop eg Bias Boating Warehouse or Whitworths, they have S/S ones the same size. I just smear a bit of grease on and screw them in.

I've used these flares on early and late and when fitted with a bead to cover any mismatches look okay.
I fitted some in the ninties and made a bead out of vinyl wrapped around wire.

They are Mini Sprite flairs - a factory option from (I think) the 80s .... or replicas there-of.

What you see is what you get - they just bolt/screw on to the body.

They can be painted in body colour as mine are.

However, think carefully before going down that path. You will end up with a row of holes drilled into the body should you ever change your mind... B%^$&er!

Dont go there:!: why not use the Innocenti or standard flares

At least that way you are playing to a wider market if you sell the car.

I MUCH prefer the flares that you can fit the plastic side chrome strips to for a finer aesthetic presentation.

It's easy to get the chrome strip on the plastics they look better than most once they're done .

I used the plastic Innocenti/Mini std flares, but I tossed away that silly bit of ill-fitting plastic strip that goes between them.
I used a bit of narrow black pinchweld instead. It stays on better and doesn't shrink with age like the strip does.
