I have a Leyland? Inlet manifold and I am going to replace the 1-1/2" SU with a 1-3/4" SU.
Should I invest in a Minispares (or similar) manifold and will the Ramflo air filter fit OK as these inlet manifolds are longer.

A Minispares single HS4/HS6 manifold fits, however you will probably not be able to run the donut air filter.
Fit a Ramflo, K&N or similar sports filter.

Here's my 1412 stroker with a 20mm thick spacer on it:

Is there a significant benefit of the Minispares manifold over the Leyland even if the leyland one is ported as DVD A Series book.

A lot less work to fit, and they are pretty cheap to buy, even here. I'd say they will outflow a ported stock HS4 one.

That's NOT a stock HS4 cast iron manifold.

That looks like the MG metro manifold, it's alloy and flows pretty well according to Viz. I doubt you'd get much (if anything) going to a minispares manifold over that.

cheers,

Jacob

Looks the same as the one I bought second hand from the UK. And you can see the grooves in the photo that indicate that a 44 (1 3/4) has been previously bolted up.

Mine looked as nice inside as the much shinier (and expensive) Mspares version...

Cheers, Ian

Looks like the MG Metro manifold. Build for the HIF6 and flows very well. No need to change.
