Has anyone used a Kel Arc spot welder. Currently advertised on ebay for $109.

Also at Big Boyz Toys (bbta.com.au), a bbt195 mig welder. Would this be suitable for panel work on a mini.

would it run on a Australia welder, US run on 110Volts

The spot welder attaches to an arc welder, no issues. The Mig welder is 240 volts.

Can't complain about the price of the Kel Arc Spot Welder, just a shame about the post..

Finally tried the Kel Arc spot welder out today and confirm that it is a little beaudy. Instructions said to have it set at 50 amps but got better results at 60-70 amps. Do yourself a favour, they are still on ebay.

Is that the gun type? If so they are available with free shipping on ebay at the moment.

They do look pretty bulky, can they get in close enough to spot a Mini seam?
I have a spot welding nozzle on the Kemppi MIG, used with the inbuilt spot timer it is very repeatable. Can plug weld from 1 side without drilling a hole, even upside down, if metal is clean in between the panels.

There are a few styles, buy one that suits your MIG torch. Mine is a Binzel one.
If you can't find one for yours, braze 2 bits of rod to the outside of a stock nozzle.
It helps if your welder has a spot timer, otherwise get practice!

[edit] You want about 8-9mm stickout from the welding tip to the end of the 2 prongs.
You push down on the torch to keep it square, then pull da trigger. Set spot timer, or release when it has filled just above flush. Keep the volts and wire speed (=amps) turned up, you probably want around 100A or so.
