What are diamensions of the diagonal grille brace. Ron Williams cut off a piece for me when I visited his workshop back in '13 and my panel beater has lost it. My brother can fold up one for me. The vertical brace looks narrower

Better off buying one, definitely available in the UK if not here. They're not expensive...

My brother made one up using the diamensions of the vertical brace in about 5 minutes. Why pay $37.50 when I can get one for nix?

The repros don't quite match the original pressings in any case, but certainly do their job keeping the latch panel secure with an oil cooler in place.

Thanks for your replies. Basically it is a piece channel, which can be reproduced quite easily. Looking at the mounting of the oil cooler, how does it mount using all mounting holes on the cooler.? I have never seen a fitting kit on sale.

The oil cooler is mounted using 2 brackets which bolt to the subframe as per below. One bolt hole is re-inforced for the hole at back of the oil cooler.The brackets bend up under the subframe and bolt on , a Cooper S should have the 2 holes in the subframe

Thanks for that. I still have the original subframe from my 'S'. I restored a deluxe subframe as it still met specification measurements

My oil cooler L brackets are attached to the front valance not the sub frame
there are no holes in my sub frame for the brackets

Correct, the don't mount to the frame but correctly mount to the bottom of the valance as well as a hole in the top of the apron where the cooler mounts.
Stibbsy I have a genuine one here if you want to borrow it or do you want me to measure it up.
