Bare block, numbers are 9F/5a/Y 50xxx

Bore diameter is 2.78" - looks like original bore diameter with a bit of wear.

Has end caps for the mains.

Thanks in advance for all the "only as much as someone will pay" responses :)

Alex.

Its a Cooper S block by the numbers alone (9F/Sa/Y....). Is it for sale?

Not really. I'm building an engine for motorsport, but don't need to worry about period correct hardware.. so if this is worth big bucks and a garden variety 1275 block isn't, then it may be worth juggling.

Yes. It will be worth more as a block than a garden variety 1275. They're all awesome, but those are collectible for another reason other than more power.

I sold my Mk2S one last year with its 3 caps, for $600. It was +.040" and needed a rebore. Probably worth more now, they are getting rarer.
Std bore non-S 1275 blocks + caps are worth ~$300-450 IMO. At least that's what I have sold some for in the last few years. Auto blocks at the cheaper end. But then you need to drill oilways and fit a pump spacer.

I reckon they're worth twice the value of a standard 1100S type block... someone restoring a MK1 with a rooted block will pay well for it.
