So it is recomended to get these rockers and instead of getting the 1.5 Rollers that cost $$$$$$$$.

You can get more valve lift (without changing cam) is a few ways:
1. Put offset bushes in your S or pressed steel rockers, & move the shaft back 1.5mm as per Vizard. Gives you another .030"-.040" valve lift over stock. Ozmotorsport has a set of these in that I did years ago. But the bushes are NLA now, and need to be made. Rocker ratio is around 1.3. More stuffing about to do than <2> below.

2. Build a set of Toyota Corolla ones as per this thread. These rockers are cheap, but by the time you get someone to make the bushes, mod the rockers, make new posts, get a HD rocker shaft etc, fit it all up you are looking at around $300+, unless you do yourself.

3. Fit MiniSpares forged (or cast?) 1.5 rockers. I'm running these, no wear on rockers valves or guides in a couple of years. Cost $500+ at Karcraft. Less if you import, check MiniSpares- p/no C-AEA436. Ratio is around 1.55-1.58, better than 1.5 rollers. :P

4. Fit roller tip rockers (bling-bling you can't see..). The ones I've worked on here (MiniSport) had sloppy bushes when bought, and the rollers got flats on them in 10,000km. Ask gareth_1330
Cost is getting towards $600 for MiniSpares ones (which may be better made), from Karcraft.

5. Fit full roller rockers. No better than the others for the street, and priced from $600+ to $heaps!.
Import.
6. Yella Terra make roller rockers here for A series but no idea of cost.

My ToyoMini ones are going on Barney the Pretend S (1293A+).
I found there's `not a lot of clearance' between the back of the rockers and the alloy rocker cover, so today I linished them back to level with the nuts.

Dunno what your :?: means.. so..
`Linisher' is like a bench grinder but uses a sanding belt.. neater job.
The rockers were a bit long, now that end is a little shorter!
The `nuts' are the locknuts on the rockers..

Any clearance issues likely with a std rocker cover?

Kevin.

No. They are very thick & rough there, and a lot of it is just casting/forging flash. They are still pretty thick.
Most stress on rockers is around the arm/boss area.

1310/71, I'll let you know. Yes there was before I did this mod. If still is it might give you an excuse to get a Bling! alloy one..

BTW ,with alloy covers it's pretty easy to mill the attachment holes forward a mm or 2, and then push the cover back a bit. There are no clearance issues at the front, usually. 8)

Corolla rockers now installed on the 1293A+, ready to fit in car. Maybe this week..
Pushrods are pretty close to the back of the pushrod holes in head, but they miss... just!
They also (now I've linished them ) just miss a stock steel rocker cover.

Why don't you cut up a rocker cover and widen it through the area in question?

Because I have an alloy one going on there. It will miss OK.
Rockers are plenty strong- I only removed the forging flash etc from the back of them. They are still as thick as S ones.
