If you really wanted to go through the exercise and use coil springs, you can measure your 4 corner weights, ride height, dimensions and take the measurements to say Kings Springs etc, and they can make the correct spring to your dimensions and rates. Then you would have to make bottom keeper plates for the coils. After a bit of fiddling your done.

I don't think they need to be imported, that's for sure. I wonder if custom trumpets were made if they could not be longer and more progressive. I will set up a rear subframe and see. The fronts have to be short so present a very fast rising rate which makes for an uncomfortable ride, which I guess is what the standard set up really is anyway. Spring rates in a Mini are not straight forward as they work through a lever unlike a normal car.

Hi Chris.
I have just got some blue coil springs from Mini Mania in the US for $385 nz delivered.
The guy that makes them is John Koo. He has a web site, it is www.sracer.com.
He makes them for some of the Uk mini shops.
I have not tried them as the B16a vtec engine is going into a 1980 clubman gt at the moment, hopefully finished by the end of the year.
Cheers Paul
