hey,
Im running Wildcat LCB extractors ATM,and im a pritty big fan of them, they are a very good flowing extractor that are cheap for there performance,iv also driven a cooper S with 3-1 perrys to the exhaust shop, then driven it home with its new Wildcats, and you can feel the  factor,if intrested in the,,PM me or brickworx about getting a pair,i can grab some pic's of them if wanted,
the flow well enuff to let my car rev to 5500 RPM on a 1100 with 1 1/2 carbie

I'm a big fan of LCBs- I've had Sonic, Perry, and Maniflow. Maniflow is much better made and they don't leak at the downpipes like the others, as they are joined underneath and actually have twin clamps...

But `Barney' has a Perry 3-1 (ex the 1098) and Lukey muffler on his 1293A+ now- we'll see how it goes with the twin HS4s... 8)

from what iv been told, 3-1 extractors are for free flowing the gasses out of the head?and LCB use the exhaust pulse to draw the gasses out of the nexy cyl. and create a flow/suction?
If i had the money i would like to try a set of LINK extractors, they look honey as

I'm using a 3-1 only because the car already has it (nearly new system).

There is also a 3-1 Maniflow race manifold available, uses 3 LONG equal pipes. Supposed to be better than an LCB for racing. 8)

I have the 3 inot 1 on at the moment and I am not happy wth them as they sit too low to the ground and hit on things.

I have had them for bout 7 years and Are staritng to leak around the main collector on the bottom. I also found that When I fitted them I los bottom end Torque but I gained a bit up the top end.

I think they would be better for a full race engine.

Is there any particular area where there are any codes on extractors? I've been trying to find some on mine but there's a bit of rust on the exterior

And, the race 3-1 is different again- like an LCB but with 3 equal length pipes that go right down round the bottom and join up.
NFG for a road car, can't stop 'em leaking I've been told.

I know the meanings and look of the LCB and 3into1's. By 'code' I mean a way to get a make, model & size of the extractors similar to the way you can distinguish engine blocks and head etc.

Just found out from the previous previous owner (yes that IS 2 previous) that they are brownrig? do'nt know what size though and I could already see that they are LCB.

What exactly is done when you perform a 'mild port & polish'?

...look under the car? But seriously if they are no sliding joints before the manifold curves under the car then its probably maniflow or some copy of them. I hear from many sources that as long as the shoulder right at the top (exhaust ports) is nicely curved and wide and the bore is consistent throughout they'll all perform the same.

A certain Sydney welding engineer might tell you otherwise though.

BTW Kev did you get the clamp kit with the maniflow? coz I've swaped the sonics for a Longman LCB and its looking good but no clamps at all.
