I'm about to bung Cody's nice shiny new MiniSpares Bling crosspin diff into his S box.
Anybody know WHY the diff pins are not at 90* to each other? Looks strange- they intersect at 80* or so....

hmm thats odd spoze if the teeth mesh properly it doesnt reall matter, looks as if the other holes are in the way to make it 90deg

This one looks different from the one Cody/Kev has. The centre bit is more of a rectangle than a square. It definately looks odd as it's definately 10-15 degrees off square

Used to be called the 'MiniTorque Diff' before Minisport bought it. I had one of these when they first came out, lasted about 3 Months when I finally got round to fitting it. Went the same way as my standard diff had ! One of the pins came out, wiping out my Mk3 S/1275GT box. I had got it from Mini-it's and they where fantastic about it, got the manufacturers to replace it even though I had had it about a little over a year old. The Mk2 version which is the one Minisport sell now has a cap headed bolt to stop the pins coming out. But I decided after looking at the Minispares diff to use theres instead. Much better design in my opinion, probably because it was designed by 'Neil Booth a gearbox specialist' and also proprietor of Minispares North in the UK.

Thanx for that, I've also heard that the MiniSport UK one is a POS and the MiniSpares is the one to get.

Having now fitted it all up, I'm impressed with the workmanship in this Mini Spares one. Very nicely made, worth it I reckon if you need one for a Hi-Po motor, turbo etc.
Note those thrust washers they show should have been staked into the slots provided..
