Hi, I have a problem with my 1275 engine. The starter motor haven' t the power to turn the engine, in first instance I think that the starter motor is the problem, but I have discard this idea because I check all the electric connection and the starter motor has bee repaired recently.
The engine have starlet piston (72 mm), connecting rod lightened and flywheel lightened. The RC is 10.5.....

My question is what it happened that the engine is so tightened to turn it?

thanks and zorry for my english

Has it worked previously?

If it has, I would be checking all the connections. Specifically at the battery terminal, might be a poor connection here or at the starter motor.

It worked previously, and I checked outside the starter motor and work very well, inclusively I put another starter motor and don`t work too...
All the connections are ok...I checked the starter motor making contact directly to the batery and nothing....it try, but it is like the engine is too tightened....I think it could be that the flywheel are deformed or a connecting rod is the problem.....

Disconnect the battery and try turning it by hand using the fan belt if you cant do this then take out the spark plugs and try

I try to turn with the fan belt but I cant not turn it...it feels "heavy", even without the spark plugs

you wouldn`t have happened to have just replaced your slave cyl , or had it overhauled by any chance,???

,, sometimes people like to replace bolts when they do some jobs & if you accidently put longer bolts in there then they may be interfering with the ring gear

just a thought :-)

we would probably need a little story of the life of your car & it`s recent repairs ,& maintenance & happenings to be able to shed any more light on your problem

No funny/weired noises lately?

no funny strange grabby/chunky "feeling" through the car on the last few drives?

the engine was re-building about 5 months back, it was put a starlet piston (72 mm), lightened the flywheel and connecting rod and the head was upgrade with bigger valve. The RC in firts place was 11,5:1.

Lately have a metalic noises and become to throw smoke...

I think that the better idea is dismantle the engine and check inside...

Thanks...
