Gurdon Motors was a long-time Austin then BMC dealership. Barry Gurdon drove one of three Austin A40s entered by Larke Hoskins (NSW Austin distributor) in the 1953 REDeX Trial.
Gurdon Motors was also where post-race scrutineering was held after Bathurst for many years. There is some good footage of the post-race scrutineering for the 1965 and 1966 Bathurst races on the Chevron DVD on the Great Race (Vol 1).
We have the history of Larke Hoskins in the next issue of The BMC Experience, and a photo of Barry Gurdon with the other two drivers (David McKay and Curley Bryant) and the three A40s after the rally.

Was also racer himself (himself)...for example, Mount Druitt May 1954 he raced an A40 in a 6 lapper...
