So Brexit has made the pound fall. Yay, cheaper parts from Minispares!

Not sure how else it will affect us?

Any minute now the exit side will secure the win and the remain side will have to concede. The pound is dropping like a stone against US$ but not quite as much against AU$.

Most of the currency websites seem to be very slow this afternoon so it's hard to get an idea of whats going on...

MAYBE...now the Brits might upgrade visiting Aussies/Bartenders from the "Other" (non-EU cattle run) to a more appropriate classification for a long standing ally :!:

Oh yes it has! Headline from ABC website:
Quote:
Share market loses $50b, Australian dollar slumps on Brexit

but luckily that's still not as bad as the pound:
Quote:
Brexit sees British pound slump to lowest level since 1985

So all in all, we're up against the pound, and Mini parts are all on special at the moment!

Re MiniSpares - I have a cart built for my next round of purchases, which has been in place for the last 7 days.

Checked it again just now and the $970 (incl postage) order has reduced to $906 with no items in cart on sale....

Australian sharemarket and dollar are taking a hit because UK is a big export market for us... so yeah, UK products on special now, but I reckon the AUD will get a lot stronger against the GBP in the next few weeks

Maybe not a bad thing for Brit classic car lovers either. It would appear that the EU would like to ban 'old' cars - that includes anything more than about ten years old used regularly, not 'garage queens' that only appear at shows on a trailer when there's no rain forecast.

As a Brit I'd like to jump in on this debate.

The EU was a good thing for Britain as it would protect us from a far right government that we are about to be landed with.

The EU was not perfect by any means, but it did serve a purpose.

I do hope that with this outcome relationships with the rest of our Common Wealth are restored to how they should have been from the start!
