Hey all,

I just got my hands on a 77 Clubman project, the wiring loom has been stripped from the car already.
Looking to buy a new look and install, but I have no clue how to route the thing...
I apologise if I seem a little stupid, I'm learning quickly.
Does anyone have any info on the installation?
I have a feeling it may go through the the roof? The car has an amazing roof lightning that I would rather not touch... Is this possible!

Thanks so much in advance!

Nick

Thanks for the pictures, this helps with the front! does the loom then enter the cabin through the passenger side pillar and up through the roof?

The rear harness has to go from the junctions on the firewall into the lhs "glovebox" area and into the inside of the A pillar, and up into the roof channel (where the ends of the headlining bows are seated), past the B pillar (where the interior light is located) and rearwards to the C pillar and down to the area where the lhs petrol tank is situated. If you want to do this with the headlining in place it'll drive you to your wit's end, but can be possible using plastic coated flexible cable, or something similar as a leader cable for the harness. If you have the rear quarter cards out that makes the job easier.
Alternatively if you have a friendly auto upholsterer get him to undo as little of the headlining as might be possible along the lhs to enable you to have some access, but noting that to really "get in there" you'll need to have the front and rear screens out. Then get him to fit it all again after you're done.
If you don't have the headlinlng in, then it's a piece of pxxx.
Good luck

it's not rocket science

Get a workshop manual (Gregory's - http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Leyland-Mini ... SwepJXUqbt) and it'll have the wiring diagram, which shows you the colours.

Contact this company and see if they have one to suit your car, you probably want to ring them - http://www.vintagewiringharness.com/

The loom you buy will have all the right lengths, connectors etc. and all the right bits will be in the right places

Lay the loom out on your living room floor and learn the colours and what goes where.

Take it slow and careful and it's pretty hard to stuff up
