G'day all,

Went to the local mower shop for some bits and pieces and got to chatting with old mate who I soon found out raced minis way back when here in Toowoomba at the Echo Valley mountain climb circuit. Just about to walk out the door and he said " Would you be interested in these....?"

They are only a pair so not a full set but they look in pretty good nick. Very dusty and in need of a refurbishment but I said I would put it up here to find out a little more about them.

They are a huge wheel and a 2 piece item, steel body with an aluminium centre held in place with eight screws. Looking through the mini wheel database they look like the real deal but would like to confirm this with the brains trust. He would be interested in selling them also.

Pics to come...

Hooroo

yeah i`d be keen on them, they look like Mawers but i think there was a bloke up that way who had some more cast up
Pete Thompson from "Air & Power tools" in Toowoomba would know
but if they`re the right money i`m keen on them as i run them on my buggy at the big tracks
so a couple of spares would be cool

Yes they look like Mawer wheels. They were very popular on racing Minis in the 70s. I had a set of 10 x 7 Mawers on my Mk 1 Cooper S. Not the lightest wheel around, but they were very strong and well made by Mawer Engineering (in Sydney I think).

Not surprised you found them in a mawer ( mower) shop.

Please excuse my sick joke
