Hi all just got the car running today but my ignition light stays on while it's running what could the problem be?

Wrong/loose wiring? Run a multimeter across the battery terminal while it's running, that will tell you straight away if alternator is working or not.

Does the ignition light come one when Key is turned on and stays on after engine is started and running or Light comes on only after engine is started?
