When I finished work the other day I was treated to a nice surprise when I walked to my car. The car park was just about empty except for my Clubbie and a bloody huge ford pick up next to my car! It had been raised considerably with monster truck like wheels and im sure it was barely legal. Anyway, my car looked ridiculously small next to it. So I hopped in my car, gave one last look at his front right wheel, which was eye level when I was sitting in my car and i drove away with my exhaust between my legs.
The thing that got me was the number plate said, FN BIG 1, I have seen him in my area before and know he is a local so now I wanna get a number plate that says, 'FN SMALL 1' but im not sure how much personalised plates cost or how many characters I can have. If it is only six then I was thinkin 'FN SMAL' any ideas?

Personalised plates in vic are 400 bucks, they went up from 300 a couple of months ago. You can have them for as long as you want.
In other states I believe you have to pay for them each year, even if it isn't on a car.

QLD is a one off fee as well with a whole bunch of options and prices, they even have a website for em http://www.ppq.com.au

Personalised plates are a bit of a joke when it comes to price.

At least up till 2003 when I left the Northern Territory, personalised plates cost 60 dollars, and for that you got 6 letters, anything you liked.
It was actually quite unusual to see just normal numbers.
No ongoing costs, just a once off up front cost of sixty dollars.

And it was highly likely (as they were made in NT Jails) that you had an authentic piece of Indigenous Art to boot!

Actually I enquired a short while ago about having "FN" as part of a personalised plate here in Vic.

The woman at Vic Roads told me that there was a warning placed on the screen and that it could be issued but there would be the chance that they could re call it at a later date if it was found to be offensive.

They apparently have the right to do this.

There is a complete block on some things but with a warning they can issue them but with the caution that they could be recalled at any time with no refund.

From what I hear, it's already happened. apparantly a few "WOG " plated in NSW have been recalled because some poor person was offended. I didn't think there was anything wrong with wogs calling themselves wogs!! I mean really, what next?

True, but I would find it hard to find any sympathy for anyone who had a quarter of a mil to waste on a bloody number plate!! I mean that's a reasonable house in most places other than Sydney!!!

The only time that Vic roads will ask for the plates to be returned is if a member of the public complains in writing. Used to work in the call centre was funny how many people tried to get MSTAB8 or another version of it!!! My grandfather has PUESRA on their car. Read it backwards! :)
