Thinking about this again, the Blackbox system doesn't have vacuum advance programming. Is it worth keeping vacuum advance on cars that have it, and how accurate would an old vacuum unit be in conjunction with the Blackbox?

I've seen this Aldon unit which has the same general idea as the Accuspark, except it allows for vacuum advance or retarding for forced induction setups. It is double the price though.

I think vacuum advance is overrated, the last 998 Minis sold here didn't have it.
My fuel economy since I fitted the black box is much better, even running a 45 Dellorto.
No vac advance.
Timing accuracy is better without it, the top plate is bolted to the body, not floating around.

Yes the above connections are correct . If it is the latest Stealth Box you can only do the programming with it disconnected from the car and just connected Via USB cable to PC.

A question
Is the advance a curve or a series of steps
that is does the advance change between steps or does it jump at each step
So if step 2 is 10 deg and step 3 is 15 deg does it move the 5 deg in-between or does it stay at 10 deg until it reaches the next step

Are I had the same issue first you need to find that file its actually on the cd. Then you need to load it into windows system32 from memory then you need to register it. I am not in front of my computer right now but do a search on the web on how to register that file name and it should give you the answer if not ill find it for you later today

And you have to do everything as an administrator including install that mean right click on the setup.exe and select run as administrator

Well what a lovely couple of days wasted in front of a computer trying to get this program to work
Did the virtual machine thing for windows 7 and wouldn't work and couldn't get it to work with the advice on the other thread
then did the windows xp virtual machine and finally got the program to open up
But it wouldn't recognise the USB so still nothing
All i have done is run some wires and eaten panadol
I am using oricle Virtual machine
Is there a better one to use
Help me before i have to shoot myself
