when you say "my car" - is that a car you've owned in NZ for some time before emigrating to Australia?

I repatriated my car from Indonesia late last year.

Make sure you find a competent customs agent this end. My one was completely incompetent resulting in 3 weeks storage fee on the docks. Nothing I could do about it.

Make sure the body/ car number is highly visible. The customs clowns took to my firewall with a wire wheel removing my new duco to reveal a number that wasn't on my documents anyway..

I was charged $500 for someone to roll the car out of the container. Thieving bast$%ds...

I found the whole experience this end was painful and absurdly expensive. The irony is, everything at the Bali end went smoothly with no hiccups whatsoever...
