I'm in the process of removing the left hand guard on my 72 clubman .
Removing to repair inner panel due to hit in off centre left front so guard is repairable so want to save it.
Any hints or tips would be greatly appreciated .

I have a Sykes-Pickavent spot weld remover which does a great job. A pilot drill goes through the centre of the spot weld and then a cutter removes the welded piece.

I grind down a suitably sized drill bit so it's almost flat. Lots of patience. Sore wrists.

Simonw beer did not help but have decided patience is the go and in no great hurry so will take some time .

DavidE have similar but having trouble getting square on to welds being so close to the edge .

Simon k is that what they are . LOL

I have bought used something similar ... Have a few sizes 6mm 8mm etc..

Try adapting an extension to it. I've seen it done before with spade bit extensions I believe.

Ended up buying donor car and cut complete left front out .

I was about to mention putting an inner guard on as well. It's easier to join at rear near shock mount than drilling out a stack of spots.

Spent last two days stripping and cutting up donor car . Not a lot that's any good but getting what I can of it . Body badly rusted and twisted from a bad hit in right rear .
