Actwelly...the magnet would be similar OD to the collet end of a valve...so the item could be part of a valve (but unlikely!)

850 valves would be pretty small? (assuming you have an 850 with a magic wand)

too small for the end of a mini valve, i`d say it`s a rivet out of first motion saft bearing cage,
just a guess tho

As mentioned earlier I'd guess that is the end of one of the links in the timing chain.

Could even be a foreign body that's found its way in, maybe in dirty oil funnel,or while engines was apart a some time.
Does look a lot like rivot head but.
