Is this the original design ?
I have a hole in the pin that looks to accept a split pin type arrangement ....

However the manual indicates it's a clip :/

Anybody with a picture of the original ?

don't have a picture, but the original clip is more like a single piece of spring wire bent into the circlip shape, rather than the type shown on minispares

if yours has a hole drilled for a split pin, then that's been done by someone who lost the original clip

The one shown as a Mini Spares item is in fact an E-Clip. The double wound wire clip is a special wire clip which has fallen into dis-use.

All of the above is correct. I just lost one while trying to press it into its groove.
I have a small collection of E-clips that will work if you would like some. But will lose you concourse points.

Thanks gents ! I ordered and have 2 on hand , but they just don't fit well and I couldn't remember what the originals looked like as its been a year since I pulled it apart ! More likely I lost them in the zinc plating process....
Any body with a picture of what's supposed to be there or is it not worth being that finicky ?

Hello Simonw,
I would like a few of these circlips too! Lost one fitting the helper spring and they are not common - like MKO has none.
Can you let the site know if you have any success?

So I found one of these. Looks very similar to the diagram. However it's a valve collet retainer clip of a cylinder head. If this is the same clip that can be used on a hydro spring retainer, then fantastic we found a source. I have 20 or so !

However there is a little problem. Seeing as my helper spring pin doesn't have a groove in it any more I'm at unable to confirm that this clip is of use. I did put it on as a trial and it seems to be of sufficient circumference.

Maybe someone can confirm whether this is going down the right track or not

Hello Simonw,
That isn't the right clip. In DavidE's photo, it's the A1200 clip that looks like a "c" inside a "c".
Good try though!
