Hey guys, my 63 mini has a 1990 rover engine with a HIF 1 3/4 carby.
Over the past year or so it's been getting a bit on the smelly side. Both at idle, and hard acceleration and I sometimes notice it during smooth cruising.
Is there a simple way to adjust this down or do I need to get technical and check exhaust mixture levels and that sort of thing :?:

If by fumey, you mean in the cabin, then I would first check all my breathers, any PCV valves and gaskets before blaming mixture, but if you mean exhaust then check mixture, leak down and compression :D

I didn't neither

After you get the underside steam cleaned...you should think about getting that ding repaired to restore proper exhaust flow  :D

The smell is mainly outside the car but it does find its way in occasionally, but I don't have a good boot seal either.
