Well spent most of Sat removing the door lock and outer door handle assembly to fit new ones to the passenger side I bought a new door lock and fitted that latch and lock assembly for an Aussie mini, made new rivets and re-assembled it The biggest problem was the dodgy spiral spring that wouldn't fit over the square shaft of the new handle So after remaking the square centre of the spring i was getting close to finishing it Lucky i had a magnetic pick up tool for retrieving the dropped screws etc
NOW the question is Is it normal for the outer door handle mount to distort the door skin a little when fitting it Or is there a secret trick to prevent this I was thinking the new rubber was a bit thick After what i did i feel it would be better to remove the whole door and work on it on its side
