Greetings Mini Experts.
Have a noisy 22G1128 (4 sync) in my wife's car. Remote shift.
Also have a perfect 22G1832 (4 sync) but Rod shift.

Can I simply swap the insides, to keep a Remote shift.

Are the casings (other than diff / shifter types) the same?

Alex.

All gears and shafts are same early rodchange to 4 synchro remote, except reverse gear. So you can put the rodchange gear train in, but use the remote box reverse gear.
Edit
reverse gear difference is the selector fork groove position.
