Hi all

I was wondering what the biggest exhaust valves I could fit in a 12g202 head?.

I've already got turned down 1100s exhaust valves but I am building a head specifically for boost this time..

Was thinking maybe I could go down a size on the inlets and up a size on the exhaust ?

Cheers

Doesn't grinding valves down remove the hardness?

No. I used to by semi finished inlet and exhaust valves from TRW and make my own. Diameter you can turn to what you like.
They are tough right through.

You can run 1 3/16 exhaust 33mm but you can get more than enough air through an 1 1/8 valve specially if you use a full radius seat with a good top cut.
You can turn down 1275 valves if you want, if you want really good quality valves you can use my valves as they are made for small bores and have the right spring height.
My exhaust valve is only 1.07 ins but if you want bigger you can turn down my inlet valves which are made of race material and will not burn out when used as exhaust valves.
