Hello,

I recently picked up a 1977 Mini S Sunshine. It has all the right markings however different motor (not concerned just yet with motor). I am doing a full restore and have been searching tirelessly for some information about the Sunshine, all that has turned up is an old newspaper article. There doesn't appear to be much information on this car.

My main need for the information is to see the original car for dash layout, colours, decals, etc. Also there is no information on the vacuum sealed sunroof, the sunroof still has the original sticker on the sunroof - release Sportsproof before opening.

Is there anybody out there with some information or pics on this car, anything would be apprecaited

Good call. It featured in Issue 7 of The Mini Experience.

The article mentions a Chris Zerial of the NSW Mini Car Club who apparently maintains a Mini Sunshine Register. The contact email is [email protected], but that was just over 10 years ago.

I see from the Minisport advert photos that the Sunshine documentation included an Owners Instruction Manual Supplement. Would anyone on here have this publication?

Thanks heaps, there are a few things that have us wondering as to restoring back to original condition. The hardest part seems to be the vacuum seal on the sunroof so far:) although ours has the original seal and release button, the seal is obviously perished and requires replacement. And the decals seem to be none existent, so we would be most interested in your restore project. Will be in touch further, unfortunately work is getting in the way of the mini project and haven't had a lot of time to spend on it. Cheers again

I too would be interested in any of this material, all sunshine documentation seems to be hard to find from what we have discovered. If I find any info on it I will pass it on also

Andrew Withall at Minisport S.A. has very kindly scanned the Sunshine handbooks and emailed to me. I'll post them in the Brochures library in the next few days and then post an alert here.

It's thanks to long-standing Mini enthusiasts like Andrew with a willingness to provide historical information that we can gradually build a repository of knowledge that would otherwise be lost.
