The switch for my heater started acting up, so I took the heater out and took it apart.... kinda the last straw

The fan motor makes a lot of noise for the first 10 seconds or so after starting up

The flap inside has always rattled, and gets stuck going between CAR and SCREEN

The plastic casing isn't too bad in terms of sun damage at the front, but I would like to make it smooth and dark again like the rest of the body.

I already have a set of letters from Sports850Man for it - I'll make sure I take reference measurements for position before I rub them off

Does anyone have suggestions of how to fix things, things to watch out for or what to do to make it look brand new again?

I'm, keen to learn from any experience people have

I do want to avoid painting it, I've given it a good clean and it looks good. I think I'll leave it as is, with the old lettering still on it

I fixed the motor, it had a lot of carbon dust inside and I cleaned up the commutator. The switch is next
